Last night Joe took Shirley, His son Reagan and his wife and daughter, Kaylyn and Ashley, and myself, out to the season opener of the Houston Astros. It was great! By the 6th inning Reagan convinced me to make the Astros my second favorite team, sorry, the cubbies will always have a special place in myheart!! ;) Anyway, the field was pretty neat...it's attached to the old train station, and so that is the "look" of the stadium. Although, the Astros couldn't pull off the win, it was still pretty entertaining. Clay Walker sang the national anthem and also gave a short performance during the 7th inning stretch. They also had the Budweiser Clydesdale horses out on the field, which Ashley, who is almost two just loved! The stadium also has a "choo choo" that moves back and forth on the outfield wall which she also couldn't take her eyes off! And to top it all off, the Bud Lights tasted awesome...beer and baseball pretty much go hand in hand!
We just got to the Ranch for Easter, and while everyone is preparing for the family pictures, I found some time to fill you all in on whats been happening down south. The weather has been absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Its about 80 degrees with a light breeze, so I've taken a few walks and had attempted to read the 2nd Hunger games book outside as well. The only thing missing is a pool or the ocean...which I suppose is only a good 45 minutes away...maybe next weekend.
Well, I also found out that KATIE has booked her ticket to come visit the first week in May! Yay!
I received another card from Sam--THANK YOU! I love getting mail that doesn't require me to pay any money!!
As for school, we had our two Easter parties Wednesday and Thursday. I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but I am actually with two different classes, a MWF class and a TTh class, both of which have seperate teachers. Both teachers are normally present each day, so I've gotten to know them both pretty well. Anyway, at Yorkshire, and many private school parent involvement is OUTSTANDING. We had about 10 moms out of the 12 at the Easter party who volunteered to hide eggs, bring food, and just help out. Since private schools aren't government funded, all the money comes from the parents, and it is just amazing how much the parents really do give back to the school.
So at the party, we had an Easter egg hunt, and the 4 year olds were hilarious! Some would jet off and scoop up every egg they could find, where as others would just slowly walk...pick up one egg out of the six that were sitting there in a row. So cute.
We figured out that I will be half way done with my student teaching placement next Friday...boy has it flown! Now, my Iowa friends need to update ME on what has been happening this last month...I MISS YOU ALL :)
